A breast cancer vaccine could be closer to reality, according to Cleveland Clinic, as its researchers have announced some encouraging results. Researchers and doctors weigh in.

The vaccine appears to be safe and effective against triple-negative breast cancer -- a type that can’t be treated with hormone therapy because it isn’t driven by any of the three hormones that typically fuel breast cancer.

Breast cancer patients have been given fresh hope after a new vaccine showed “promise” in treating an aggressive form of the disease. The results came in a clinical trial involving American patients with triple-negative breast cancer who received an experimental jab designed to prevent the recurrence of tumours.
