BEIRUT (Reuters) -Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon over the last day have killed more than 20 people including several children, Lebanese authorities said on Saturday, after heavy Israeli bombardment pounded the southern suburbs of the capital Beirut overnight.

A resident of the southern Lebanese port city of Tyre says an Israeli airstrike has left at least seven dead, among them five siblings, three of whom were deaf and mute.

Israel’s first citywide forced displacement calls for Lebanon’s eastern city of Baalbek were followed by air attacks.
