PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh will honor those who have served with its annual Veterans Day Parade on Monday. The parade, which is one of America's longest-running since 1919, is set to begin at 10:30 a.m. on Liberty Avenue. The parade marches to the reviewing stage at Fifth and Liberty avenues before ending at Commonwealth Place.

This year's parade theme was Korean War veterans. The grand marshal was 94-year-old John Defilippo, of Canonsburg, who was awarded the Purple Heart after being hurt during the Battle of Heartbreak Ridge.

Pittsburgh Regional Transit’s administrative offices and Downtown Service Center will be closed on Veterans Day. Buses will operate regular weekday service, but several routes will be detoured for the parade. Detours are expected to begin around 9 a.m. and finish around 2:30 p.m. Find details about detours for specific bus routes here.
